Admissions & Day Stay Unit (ADU)
The Day Stay Unit is part of our theatre complex and provides day surgery services and admission preparation for elective surgery requiring overnight stays.

Antenatal (pregnancy) clinic
Antenatal (pregnancy) care is available for you from the time you become pregnant until the birth of your baby.

Breast and Gynaecological Cancer Support
Offering specialist support to women and men with breast cancer and to women with gynaecological cancers.

Cancer Support Services
We offer a range of cancer support programs and services including our Oncology day unit the provides chemotherapy and other supportive treatments for people with cancer or other chronic illnesses.

Childbirth Education
The midwives at Northeast Health run childbirth and parenting classes throughout the year. These classes give you the chance to look around our facilities, meet some of our staff and meet other people who are going through pregnancy and parenthood.

Community Engagement
Our community engagement team are responsible for: fundraising and donations, media liaison, community development, events and public relations.

Complex Care Service
The Complex Care Service encourages you and your care coordinators to work together to develop goals and establish plans for your ongoing care.

Continence Clinic
The goal of continence services is to improve the confidence and quality of life for children and adults with urinary and faecal incontinence and other bladder, bowel and pelvic issues.

Critical Care Unit (CCU)
The Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Northeast Health provides highly specialised and intensive care services for our community.

Dental Service
Northeast Dental Service provides general and emergency dental services.

Diabetes Education
Our educators can help if you have diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes.

Food, Nutrition and Dietetics
The dietetic service can help you with food and nutrition-related health conditions.

District Nursing Service (DNS)
The district nursing service (DNS) is a team of nurses who work to help you continue to live safely in your own home.

Emergency Department (ED)
Our ED is the designated rural trauma service for the central section of the Hume health region.

We can support you throughout your pregnancy journey and beyond with a range of services including; Antenatal (pregnancy) clinic, Community Midwife Program, childbirth education and lactation clinic.

Health Promotion
Health promotion agencies in our region are working together to address healthy eating as a regional priority.

Hospital in the Home (HITH)
This program offers you care in your own home or another suitable place so that you can leave the hospital sooner.

Illoura Residential Aged Care
At Illoura Residential Aged Care we understand and strive to provide the best possible care to meet your individual needs.

Lactation (breastfeeding) Clinic
The lactation (breastfeeding) clinic helps, promotes and supports women in the hospital and the community to manage the breastfeeding of their baby.

Maternity Ward
Our maternity ward provides a supportive environment for new mums with 24-hour care from our team of midwives.

Medical Imaging (X-ray)
Our modern medical imaging facility offers a comprehensive and personalised service. The onsite medical specialists and imaging staff provide 24-hour imaging services to the hospital.

Medical Ward
The medical ward is located on the ground floor of the hospital and contains 27 general medical beds including 2 palliative care rooms.

Midwifery Group Practice (MPG)
The midwife from the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) will work with you to identify your needs and will make sure that all your tests, consultations and referrals run smoothly.

Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists can help you to safely perform everyday activities in your home and other surroundings.

Oncology
Our Oncology day unit provides chemotherapy and other supportive treatments for people with cancer or other chronic illnesses.

Paediatrics
At Northeast Health, we look after your young and adolescent children (aged 0 to 18) and help with their medical, surgical and mental health needs.

Palliative Care
The palliative care program offers extra support to help deal with your own illness or that of a family member or friend when an illness cannot be cured.

Pastoral & Spiritual Care

Our pastoral and spiritual care team provides emotional and spiritual support to residents, patients, families, staff and volunteers.

Pharmacy
Pharmacy staff aim to help you to understand your medications so that you can make the best possible recovery after visiting our hospital.

Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapists assess your injury and use a range of physical techniques to improve any existing injuries and to reduce the risk of future disease and disability.

Post Acute Care (PAC)
This is a free service which arranges short term support and assistance for those requiring extra care to return home and return to a normal lifestyle as quickly as possible.

Robotics Therapy
Our ‘Rehabilitation & Robotics Centre’ provides state-of-the-art robotics therapy to enhance patients treatment and recovery.

Renal Dialysis Unit
The renal dialysis unit at Northeast Health can treat up to 21 people and is serviced by two specialist kidney doctors.

Social Work
Our social workers are here to support you, your family and loved ones during and after your stay in hospital.

Speech Pathology
Our speech pathology service helps you with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.

Stomal Therapy
Our stomal therapy service can help you with either a new or an existing stoma.

Supply and Procurement

Surgical Ward
The surgical ward at Northeast Health Wangaratta cares for you after your surgery. The ward has 25 beds with a mixture of single, two and four bed rooms.

Telehealth (Hume Telehealth Agency)
Telehealth is a secure and easy way for people living in the Hume region to access health care using digital technology.

Theatre Complex
Our staff understand that a visit to the operating theatre can be stressful. Our aim is to provide the best possible care so that your time with us is comfortable and safe.

Thomas Hogan Rehabilitation Centre (THRC)
THRC runs comprehensive rehabilitation and geriatric evaluations and supports people who have disabilities to achieve independence.

Transition Care Program (TCP)
The transition care program at NHW is for older people who would otherwise be eligible for residential care.
