Antenatal Clinic

Having a baby is a very exciting time and at Northeast Health we’re here to support you throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey.

Our flexible approach to antenatal care means that you can choose the model of care that suits your individual health needs and preferences. 

Due to the busy nature of this clinic, there can be a long wait for appointments. Please bring with you water, snacks and something to read so you are more comfortable while you wait.

The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is available for low to medium risk pregnancies. While the Antenatal Clinics at Northeast Health and Yarrawonga Health both provide shared care between your General Practitioner (GP) and our team of obstetricians, hospital doctors and midwives at Northeast Health.

Our current models of care include:

  • Antenatal clinic with midwives and doctors
  • Antenatal care with your local antenatal service (Yarrawonga Health, Alpine Health, Benalla Health, Mansfield Health and Cobram Midwives ) in collaboration with NHW doctors if required.

Shared Care

Shared Care is antenatal care provided by your General Practitioner (GP) and the Antenatal Clinic. In Shared Care, your GP will provide most of your antenatal care with visits to the Antenatal Clinic at 12-14, 20, 28, 36, 40 and 41 weeks. Your GP works in partnership with the team at Northeast Health to provide the best possible pregnancy, birth and postnatal care for you and your baby.

Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)

Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) care is available if you have an uncomplicated medical history and pregnancy. The team of experienced midwives work in partnership with you to ensure you are informed of all your choices regarding the pregnancy, birth and postnatal phase.

Places are limited so you need to let your GP know that you wish to join the MGP program.
