Maternity Package

Fees effective from 1st October 2021

The fee for Uninsured Medicare Ineligible Obstetric patients at Northeast Health Wangaratta is $15,000.
This fee is inclusive of accommodation and bed fee costs, Anaesthetist and Obstetrician costs, Theatre charges, Antenatal clinic attendances, Domiciliary visits after discharge and CTG’s.

Payment Options

Full payment prior to your first antenatal appointment includes 5% discount… $14,250

Paying by instalments:
All payment plans are by Direct Debit or Credit Card only. You will be required to complete these forms with our Credit Management Officer on 03 57225 436 or email AccountsReceivable@nhw.org.au

First instalment…………………………….. $ 3,750
due prior to your first outpatient appointment.

Second instalment………………………… $ 3,750
due by 15 weeks gestation.

Third instalment……………………………. $ 3,750
due by 25 weeks gestation.

Fourth instalment…………………………. $ 3,750
due by 34 weeks gestation.

If you deliver before the fourth instalment is expected, payment will be required prior to discharge.

If your baby is due within 10 weeks of your first appointment at Northeast Health Wangaratta, the full fee must be paid upfront.

What is NOT included in these options?

  • Fees for Pathology, Radiology, Pharmacy, Prosthetic items and other procedures.
  • Special Care nursery for your baby after delivery.
  • Transportation to another hospital – costs associated with transfer to and time spent in another facility are not included in the cost options provided at Northeast Health Wangaratta.
  • Ambulance transport if required.

Is my newborn automatically entitled to Medicare?

No. Newborn babies take the eligibility of their mother. For further information please visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship website: immi.homeaffairs.gov.au

Insured patients

If you have private health insurance and no Medicare card you will need to provide your health insurance details including Health fund name and membership number. We will do an eligibility check to ensure you are covered for your obstetric care at Northeast Health.
