mother breastfeeding babyBreastfeeding is a recognised activity that improves the health and well-being of you and your baby. The lactation (breastfeeding) clinic helps, promotes and supports women in the hospital and the community to manage the breastfeeding of their baby.

Northeast Health runs a FREE lactation (breastfeeding) clinic for mothers and babies (birth to six months) who are having problems with breastfeeding. Accredited Lactation Consultants are available in the clinic to give you relaxed, personalised and professional information that will help you with breastfeeding.

Our successful clinic is used by many of our mothers and has high breastfeeding rates for babies from birth to six months.

Do I need a referral to access the clinic?

You do not require a referral from a health professional to make the most of this wonderful service. However, you must make a booking before coming to the clinic and this can be done before you give birth.

The lactation (breastfeeding) clinic runs from Monday to Friday in our mother and baby resource centre at 34 Cusack Street, Wangaratta.
