The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is available for low to medium risk pregnancies. While the Antenatal Clinics at Northeast Health and Yarrawonga Health both provide shared care between your General Practitioner (GP) and our team of obstetricians, hospital doctors and midwives at Northeast Health.

Shared Care

Shared Care is antenatal care provided by your General Practitioner (GP) and the Antenatal Clinic. In Shared Care, your GP will provide most of your antenatal care with visits to the Antenatal Clinic at 12-14, 20, 28, 36, 40 and 41 weeks. Your GP works in partnership with the team at Northeast Health to provide the best possible pregnancy, birth and postnatal care for you and your baby.

Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)

Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) care is available if you have an uncomplicated medical history and pregnancy. The team of experienced midwives work in partnership with you to ensure you are informed of all your choices regarding the pregnancy, birth and postnatal phase.

Places are limited so you need to let your GP know that you wish to join the MGP program.
