Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)

Phone: +61 (03) 5722 5256
34 Cusack Street, Wangaratta VIC 3677

The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is run by a team of midwives offering individualised care to those with low to medium risk pregnancies. Each midwife has extensive education and clinical expertise and together they offer a 24/7 on-call service for the duration of your pregnancy and up to six weeks after your baby’s birth.

Once you have joined the program, you will be allocated a primary midwife who will undertake the majority of your care. Over the course of your pregnancy, they will work in partnership with you to ensure that you are informed of all your choices regarding the pregnancy, birth and postnatal phase.

There is a limit to the number of women who can be cared for each month in the program. Please ask your GP to indicate your preference for MGP in your referral letter. A midwife from MGP will then contact you to confirm your preference and to offer you a place in the program.
