Northeast Health Wangaratta is proud to be partnering with Gateway Health, in conjunction with Department of Health, to offer a free Women’s Health Clinic, aiming to bridge the gap in women’s health care.
Women in rural and regional areas often face significant barriers to accessing the healthcare they need such as long travel distances, limited specialists, and delayed diagnoses. This clinic was created to address these barriers ensuring timely access to specialised care, close to home.
The clinic is for all women, and women assigned female at birth.
Our Women’s Health Clinic offers services in:
- Persistent Pelvic Pain/endometriosis
- Menopause and Perimenopause
- Menstrual issues
- Vulvar Conditions
- Contraception
- IUD consultation and procedure
- Referral for surgical termination of pregnancy
Patients will engage with our clinic for a cycle of sessions, during which time they could see a range of medical and allied health professionals, such as specialised Women’s Health GP, gynaecologist, nurse, physiotherapist, dietitian, social worker, psychologist.
We work with your own GP as part of your care team.
Some services have age criteria.
Exclusion criteria:
- Acute, severe pelvic or abdominal pain
- We do not provide services for managing pelvic pain during pregnancy.
- Individuals with endometriosis or pelvic pain that is well-managed.
- Pt who already have an established multidisciplinary healthcare team via GP care.
- Patients undergoing current cancer treatment.
Referral:
A referral from your GP will be requested for specialist services.

Our preferred referral pathway is via the SeNT e-referral platform.
Women aged over 18 are able to refer themselves to the service via contacting the service through the above contact details. A member of our team will then be in touch to arrange an appointment in our clinic, you will be advised at which location your appointment will be.
We work closely with Northeast Health Gynaecology clinic and Gateway Health Sexual and Reproductive Health Hub – Clinic 35. Clinic 35 SRH Hub is funded by Department of Health and provides:
- STI testing
- Cervical Screening
- Contraception
- pregnancy options
- Medical Termination of Pregnancy
- IUD insertions

Clinic Funding
- Our Women’s Health Clinic has been made possible through recent government funding. In April 2025, the Minister for Health and Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, announced Northeast Health Wangaratta as one of the 20 locations to open specialised women’s health clinics in Victoria.
- Some eligibility criteria for services may apply.
- While all services at Northeast Health are free, some out-of-pocket fees may apply for referred services.
