Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is proud to announce the appointment of two new Life Governors, recognising their outstanding service and long-standing commitment to the organisation.
Life Governorship is the highest honour that can be bestowed by NHW. It is reserved for individuals who have made an exceptional contribution, providing significant and lasting benefit to the organisation and the community it serves.
This year, NHW is delighted to confer Life Governorship on two highly respected members of its health community, Lois Foley, former Theatre Unit Manager, and Mr Peter Thomas, former Head of General Surgery.
Both Lois and Peter have made an enduring impact through their leadership, clinical expertise and dedication to patient care. Their contributions have helped shape NHW’s services and culture, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to benefit staff, patients and the wider community.
The Life Governorship awards will be formally presented at the Northeast Health Wangaratta Annual General Meeting, to be held on Monday 8 December at 3.30pm at the Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway.
NHW Board Chair, Ruth Kneebone, said the recognition reflects the organisation’s gratitude for their remarkable service.
“Lois and Peter have each given so much to Northeast Health and to the people of this region. Their dedication, compassion and leadership have made a real and lasting difference. It’s an honour to recognise their contributions through Life Governorship,” Ms Kneebone said.
Community members, staff and colleagues are warmly invited to attend the AGM and join in celebrating this special occasion for Lois and Peter.
