New medical students arrive at NHW

We’re pleased to welcome fourteen new 2nd and 3rd year medical students studying Doctor of Medicine (MD) onsite at NHW.

NHW partners with The University of Melbourne – Rural Clinical School partners to facilitate The Doctor of Medicine (MD) course. The course is designed to train doctors who have the skills, attributes, passion and competency to make a positive and immediate contribution to rural communities.

Students attend tutorials, lectures, seminars and clinical skills sessions onsite in the University of Melbourne Learning and Teaching Centre and rotate through wards, theatres, specialist clinical areas and general practice clinics at NHW.  Students spend time on the various wards and are integrated into the multidisciplinary health professional team working with consultants, registrars, interns, nurses, and allied health.
