Workforce Plan 2025 – 2028
Northeast Health Wangaratta’s Workforce Plan 2025–2028, sets out how we will support, grow and sustain our workforce over the next three years. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. With more than 1,600 staff delivering care across our service, this plan is about making sure you feel supported, valued and equipped to do your best work, now and into the future.
The Workforce Plan has been shaped through consultation with staff from across NHW and reflects the realities of working in healthcare today. It also responds to the challenges we know exist across the sector, while building on our strengths as a regional health service and a major local employer.
The plan is built around four clear pillars:
- Engagement: strengthening communication, recognition and opportunities for staff to have a voice
- Development: expanding access to learning, career pathways and support at every stage of your career
- Leadership: building capable, consistent and visible leaders who live our values
- Safety and Inclusion: creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected and supported
Together, these pillars provide a practical road map for attracting and retaining great people, growing our own future workforce, and continuing to improve how we work together.
The Workforce Plan was developed in collaboration with Ninety Mile Consulting.
