Dr. Johann De Witt Oosthuizen (Director of Emergency Department) joins Kim Commensoli (Head of Infection Prevention and Control) as some of the first NHW staff to receive their COVID vaccination.

The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, voluntary and free

25 frontline healthcare workers from Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) received the COVID Pfizer Vaccination today in Albury Wodonga.

Kim Commensoli, Head of Infection Prevention Control, was first in line for the NHW team. Kim stated, “ It’s critical that healthcare workers lead the way in stepping up to be vaccinated. Vaccination is the best way we can protect ourselves, our families and our community. When enough people are vaccinated, it slows down the spread of the disease”.

Northeast Health will become a sub vaccination hub for the region to ensure those in the priority classifications are vaccinated in a timely manner. It is expected the local vaccination site will be operating for NHW staff from the end of March.
