Congratulations to Ferruccio Tonini, who was recognised in the Australia Day Honours this week with a Medal of the Order of Australia for his incredible contribution to nursing and our community.
Ferruccio has spent more than 50 years at Northeast Health Wangaratta, and even on the day of his award he was on duty, doing what he loves – caring for patients and supporting his colleagues. From his early days as one of the few male nurses, through leadership roles in intensive care and administration, he’s earned the respect of everyone he works with.
His dedication, problem-solving and genuine love for people make him an inspiration to all of us. Thank you, Ferruccio, for everything you do for our patients and our community – and for proving that you can still love your work after 50 years!
