Celebrating Meals on Wheels Volunteers at NHW

Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is proud to celebrate National Meals on Wheels Day and to recognise the volunteers who make this vital service possible.

Each year, NHW delivers over 12,000 hot meals to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. These deliveries provide more than just nutrition, they offer reassurance, connection and support, helping people to stay living independently in their own homes. For many recipients, a friendly smile and a chat from a Meals on Wheels volunteer can make all the difference to their day.

“This day is about recognising our volunteers and the vital role they play in supporting our community,” said Libby Fifis, NHW CEO “We couldn’t provide this service without their dedication, care and generosity.”

On National Meals on Wheels Day, NHW also acknowledges the customers who rely on the service and the staff who ensure it runs smoothly every day. Together, they help make a real difference in the lives of our community members.

NHW is now recruiting new Meals on Wheels volunteers. If you would like to get involved and make a positive impact, contact Volunteer Services on 5722 5297 or email volunteers@nhw.org.au
