Our qualified stomal therapy nurses provide a specialised consulting service and can help you adjust to living with either a permanent or temporary stoma; an artificial opening to the outside of the body used for feeding or drainage.

Types of stomas

Colostomy – a surgical procedure that creates a stoma (artificial opening) into the large bowel (or colon)

Ileostomy – a surgical procedure that creates a stoma (artificial opening) into the small bowel (or ileum)

Urostomy – a surgical procedure that creates a stoma (artificial opening) for the urinary system.

Gastrostomy or Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)  – a surgical procedure that creates a stoma (artificial opening) into the stomach for nutritional support or gastric decompression.
