Graduate Nurse Applications

Applications for the following 2020 Graduate Nurse positions open on 10 June 2019:

  • General Nursing (22 positions available)
  • Double Degree Nursing/Midwifery (2 positions available)
  • Double Degree Nursing/Paramedicine (1 position available)

Part-time 0.8 FTE positions offered.
Individual and group interviews will be conducted for all positions.
External rotations and honours program are available by negotiation only.
We welcome calls to organise an appointment for a tour and information session.

Information about the Nurse Graduate Program

General Nursing

Numerous intake dates from January 2020

Applications must include all documents listed:

  1. Letter of application
  2. Completed NHW Employment Statutory Declaration
  3. CV, including placement  history and 2 professional/clinical referees, ie. clinical placement facilitator, Manager from current healthcare-related workplace (if relevant) – please include email addresses
  4. Most recent academic transcript with results legend, including academic transcripts for previous nursing qualifications (ie. Enrolled Nurse)
  5. Passport sized photograph
  6. Two most recent ACUTE full clinical placement reports – must be inclusive of interim and final reports & may include 2nd or 3rd year reports  (Aged Care, Mental Health & Community placement reports will NOT be accepted)

Applicants must be eligible for the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Computer Match program.

Double Degree Nursing/Midwifery

Double degree Nursing/Midwifery Graduates will be offered a streamed rotational program, with two 6 month rotations across the Surgical and Maternity Units.  Within the Maternity rotation there may be the opportunity to work across Antenatal and Postnatal services, Labour Ward and Special Care Nursery.

Double Degree Nursing/Paramedicine

Double degree Nursing/Paramedicine Graduates will be offered a streamed rotational program, with 12 months of emergency care nursing.  Two 6 month rotations are offered across the NHW Emergency Department and the Urgent Care Centre at Benalla Health.

  6. Two most recent ACUTE full clinical placement reports (including 1 Midwifery focused) – must be inclusive of interim and final reports & may include 2nd or 3rd year reports  (Aged Care, Mental Health & Community placement reports will NOT be accepted)
