With traditional work experience not possible this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, Northeast Health has developed an innovative new approach to ensure interested students can still experience careers in health.
One day “A Taste of Health” forums have been made available to students from Wangaratta High School, Galen College and Cathedral College.
Over the course of May and June some 28 students from years 10-12 will have attended the forums, experiencing a behind the scenes tour of NHW, attending a high fidelity simulation teaching session at NHW’s University of Melbourne Rural Clinical School and listening to staff share stories of their health career pathways stories.
Thank you to everyone involved including, Stephanie Evans (Speech therapy), Belinda Dunbar and Lydia Cobham (Nursing) Lachlan O’Brien (Nursing/Paramedicine) and Eliza Fordham, Amber Perks Juliette Perks and Maddy Meek (Medicine).
