Woolworths has kindly delivered a donation of more than 3400 rolls of toilet paper to Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) to go to Meals on Wheels member organisations across the North East.
The toilet rolls will be distributed by Meals on Wheels volunteers to help provide for their members essential shopping needs, as many are finding COVID-19 measures difficult to manage.
NHW manager volunteer and creative services Kerryn Mitchell said the donations would bring much needed relief to those struggling and support the vulnerable.
“It’s a lovely gesture on behalf of Woolworths to take a little bit of pressure off people who are already stressed out and stuck at home,” Ms Mitchell said.
“Our Meals on Wheels volunteers over the next week or so will be getting it out to all of our clients.
“It’ll be a nice little added bonus with their delivery of food.”
Ms Mitchell said the toilet rolls would be spread out to areas including Yarrawonga, Alpine, Benalla and Mansfield.
“It’s going to our most at-need clients within the Meals on Wheels client base who are already self-isolating,” she said.
“It’s just one less thing they’ve got to worry about and given the toilet paper shortages there has been around the region, the idea of being able to at least alleviate that pressure is huge. We are very grateful to Woolworths for this donation.”
