The Dirrawarra Proud and Deadly awards were held at the Wangaratta High School yesterday with students and representatives attending from many schools around our region.
Dirrawarra Proud and Deadly awards aim to recognise, celebrate, and award Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student’s achievements through the school year in academics, art, music, leadership, recreation and contribution to the community. These awards build Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students pride, self-esteem and passion to encourage ongoing achievement.
Northeast Health is very proud to sponsor this important event, and staff members; Kayla Savory, Sandi Darlow and Jodie Moore were on hand offering a few NHW giveaways, fresh fruit and providing plenty of information on healthy lifestyle, oral health, smoking cessation and Northeast Health services, which was very well received by students and community members with one student even commenting “this is the best stall ever”.
Northeast Health Wangaratta would like to congratulate the many recipients of this year’s Dirrawarra Proud and Deadly Awards.
