Latipsoh Donation from WAW

We would like to thank the WAW Credit Union for their generous donation of $39,516.72 from the 2017 Latipsoh Appeal. This money will be used to purchase additional urology equipment for our theatre complex as well as a new robotic ‘SaeboReJoyce‘ that will give stroke patients in our care access to more state-of-the-art robotic equipment to aid stroke rehabilitation.

The recovery of arm and hand movement after a stroke requires large repetitions of suitably challenging, task-specific exercise.  The ‘SaeboReJoyce’ is an upper extremity workstation (robotic) which allows patients to practice repetitive gross motor and fine motor tasks with fun and motivating games and activities. One of the benefits of the SaeboReJoyce over other robotics devices is that the tasks closely mimic our activities of everyday living.

Latipsoh (hospital spelt backwards) supports local health services through fundraising events and donations.
