Getting to know Lorna
Lorna Hill has been volunteering at Northeast Health for nearly eight years and is a much-loved member of our volunteer team. Lorna is an administrative assistant for Volunteer Services, providing general admin support and assisting with the recruitment and retention of volunteers by maintaining the volunteer database, timesheets and personnel files.
Would you like to tell us a little bit about your background? What did you do before volunteering?
I worked in the office of Ray White Real Estate for 18 years, before then I worked at Milford Tyre Service. I’ve raised a family and enjoyed being part of the squash and racquetball clubs.
Why volunteer at NHW?
I was seeking volunteer work, l looked at NHW and it sounded like a great place. 8 years later I’m still enjoying it.
What’s your favourite thing about your role?
I enjoy the different elements and interacting with many different people.
What makes you laugh the most?
The many things I do and my grandchildren
