Oral Health for Busy Lives
The Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) Dental Service is hosting a variety of activities during Dental Health Week from 7 – 11th August 2017.
The theme of Dental Health Week – “Oral Health for Busy Lives” resonates well with the frantic pace of our daily activities; simple things such as maintaining oral health are often put aside.
NHW Dental Service staff will be celebrating Dental Health Week focusing on this theme. To promote this the following activities will be taking place:-
- The Dental Van will be on display at the front of the Community Care Centre in Clark Street
- Colouring competitions and a display of the entries in the waiting area of the dental clinic. Prizes will be awarded in various age-groups.
- There will be balloons and other giveaways.
- The staff will also be attending the Council Kiosk on the Cnr Reid and Murphy Streets on Tuesday 8th August, between 10am and 2.30pm providing information and goodie bags.
NHW Dental Health Services Practice Manager, Tricia Voss explains that “twice daily brushing and flossing take a mere 5 minutes in the morning and again in the evening but go a long way to optimising oral health. Regular dental visits will also support these actions and provide reassurance and advice. She says, of course, diet is another important factor in maintaining good oral health and this is also another area to highlight during Dental Health Week.” NHW dental staff will be promoting a healthy diet and giving away fresh fruit in support of this.
NHW Dental Service in open daily for emergency and general treatment. Children in all age-groups have priority access and there is also a Private Dental Service onsite for convenience. Please contact the staff on (03) 5722 5325 for all enquiries.
